Sevilla looks maravilloso! I am happy that you guys are having such a great time. Keep me updated.
Great to see you blogging again! Can’t wait to visit.
Ditto to your dad’s comment 🙂 Thanks for keeping us all updated!
I quite enjoy keeping up with you and your adventures via the culinary perspective. We have been reduced to packaged Trader Joe’s type food lately (Mom has been very busy playing catch up, two wedding in two weeks, etc!). May need to call you for an “intervention”. Stay safe, learn lots, and have fun!
Awww, at least TJ’s fast food is better than just plain fast food! We’ll have to make up for it when you guys come to visit! Julia and I will know all the good spots:-)
Wow! Love both gardens, but prefer the less formal style of Monet if forced to choose.
That choice makes sense! When in bloom, our backyard is like a mini-Giverny:-)
Loved your section on your return visit to Granada. It brought back memories for me as well. Just looking at the attached photos and reading your description of each delicacy made me hungry, but also added 5 lbs. to me.
I was also excited to learn of your visit with Carmen and Francisco. I imagine they were surprised to see you!
What was that first Morrocan dish? With the cooler fall temps, and some rain, a hearty dish like that sure looks good!
Hi Dad! I think it is called a veggie tagine with couscous. According to Wikipedia, the word “tagine” refers to the pot the dish is traditionally cooked in, and it usually is comprised of a slow-cooked meat or veggie. When I searched “tagine” in Epicurious, some good-looking recipes popped up! I hope it’s a good source of inspiration:-) We’ve been seeing some chilly weather here too!!!
Sure missed you on turkey day. We enjoyed our time at “Grandma’s house” with the two pairs of newlyweds. You two scored big with such a nice little place in a great location. I don’t think any one location would have allowed both of you to escape your commute challenges. We had a champane toast to the newlyweds and one more for the globe trotting Hartsell (you!). We love you, miss you and look forward to seeing you at Christmas. Gobble – gobble!
I was linked to your page because of my interest in TEFL. awesome blog! love the pics & very educational/fun. Thanks!
Hi Dana! I’m so glad that you liked the blog! Thanks for your comment:-)
What great tour guides the two of you are. I will be looking forward to a tour also, in the spring, if all goes well.
Dad (on mom’s computer)
I made a gigantic mistake reading of Julia’s sought after culinary prizes from her school on an empty stomach and an empty refrigerator! They look and sound great (pig bristles excepted!).

Best of luck!
Hi Jenna,
i am currently doing the program and wanted to teach in spain. I have heard that it is quite difficult to find work. I would live to be in Valencia. I have tons of questions like Fernanda. but i was wondering if with this job you can become at the very least a resident of spain. I am sure you are super busy but when you have the time.
Best regards,
Monica
Hi Monica!
Neat! If you apply to the teaching position through the Junta de AndalucĂa or CIEE (both of the web links below) you’re guaranteed a teaching position. You could put Valenica as a preference on your application but it’s not for sure that you’ll get it, though applying earlier than later should increase your chances of getting your preferences. Also, if you apply through CIEE you’re guaranteed to be placed in AndalucĂa (southern Spain.) exclusively. The position doesn’t get you residency, only a temporary residency card that ends 2 weeks after the school year ends. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!!
